20-Sep-14: Outside brickwork is finished and the plasterboard is up & being prepped for painting.

Rear of house

Front, still showing the unrendered bricks of various colours.

Plasterer

Plasterboard is up in all rooms and being prepped for the painters.

Cabinets

They were in the process of installing the cabinets in all rooms when I visited. I love this licorice colour (overhead cabinets are the same). Splashback will be black glass, so I've gone for the Darth Vader theme throughout, although benchtops will be a white ceaserstone.

This is the first time I've seen some of my colour choices in the flesh.

  1. I've been following the build. Haven't really had much to say, but you don't seem very stressed for someone building a house. I've known people to rep their own heads off ...

  2. Kitchen colours look good and the external view is starting to look neat. Good to see the builders have a fence & toilet - some around here don't bother.

    1. The loo was the first sign of activity on the site. Must be a state regulation, all the builders here start with a loo on site.

  4. The progress looks good once the build started. I like the colours especially the black splashback, very hip. Not long to go now...you will be digging, fencing and mowing for Christmas.

  5. Site visit on Friday, so I should have some pics of the paintwork after that. Tiling apparently is finished, splashbacks going in this week. Still no word on benchtops & flooring.
