14. The garden a year later

The Garden in Summer 2016

A few things done outside such as a path on the side & a gate added. The plants are doing quite well now that summer is here.

Front

I didn't realise how expensive a decent gate was but made necessary by a neighbours near-feral cat dropping dead rabbits in my back yard (grrr!). The two conifers are Thuja and shouldn't grow to more than 2m height.

These are all taking off with the warm weather. Behind the letterbox is a creeping thyme in full flower, which the bees love.

Back Yard

There have been some hits & misses with plants over the winter & spring but it's building up quite nicely now. A few legumes seem to be sorting out the heavy clay over time.

I've lost my view of the horizon over the fence with the house going up in the street behind (you can see the tops of the new roofs above), so I'm in the process of greening up the fence to provide a nicer outlook from the living room.

North Side - I currently have a lot of lavender and some herbs in flower & it sounds like bomber command with so many bees keeping busy. There are a number of local farms nearby that sell honey but I'm not sure where these ones come from.
